An electric meter box is a device used in the power system for installing, protecting, and measuring the usage of electrical energy. The common internal components mainly include the following categories:

Electric meter: This is the core component of the electric meter box, used to measure and record the consumption of electrical energy. Modern electric meters are mostly electronic, with the characteristics of high precision, high sensitivity, and strong anti-interference.

Fuses or fuses: These safety devices are used to protect circuits and equipment from damage caused by current overload. When the current exceeds the rated value of the fuse or fuse, they will disconnect the circuit to ensure electrical safety.

Circuit breaker: A circuit breaker is also a type of switch, but it has more complex protection functions. It can quickly cut off the power supply in case of circuit overload, short circuit and other faults, protecting equipment and personal safety. Common circuit breakers include air switches, residual current switches, and dual power automatic transfer switches.

Contactor: Contactors are used for remotely controlling the on/off of circuits, replacing traditional manual operating devices. In the meter box, contactors are commonly used to control circuit switches and reclosers.

Capacitor: Capacitors are used to compensate for reactive power and improve the utilization of electrical energy. In the power system, capacitors can also be used to store electrical energy, filter noise, and so on.

Other auxiliary components, such as current transformers, voltage transformers, terminal blocks, electrical instruments (such as ammeters and voltmeters), actuators, controllers, and signal indicator lights, play a role in measuring, displaying, controlling, and protecting in the meter box.

In summary, there are various types of components inside the electric meter box, each performing their own duties to ensure the safe, stable, and efficient operation of the power system.
